Equine Digestive System – Modified Monogastrics

Objectives:

  • Explain the differences between the digestive systems of the ruminant, monogastric and the modified monogastric systems.
  • Explain the basic digestive tract of a ruminant animal (beginning with prehension and ending with the large intestine)
  • Learn how feeding horses is important and prevention of colic.

    • (9) (A) describe the structures and functions of the digestive system of ruminant and non-ruminant animals, including poultry and cattle
